There is a big difference in the appearance of the acquired images.
The RDL lens is an ultra-wide-angle lens with a horizontal angle of view of 120° and distortion of less than 2%, thanks to our proprietary optical design technology.
General wide-angle lenses used for LiDAR, such as fisheye lenses, cause distortion as if the center of the image is stretched toward the edges, resulting in compression of the peripheral images.
The projection method (fθ or ftanθ) is also different as shown below.
