The customer was looking for lens units to efficiently focus laser light for their Scientific Analyzer. TOYOTEC had been consulting with the customer on a number of projects as a partner from conception to design and production realization.</p>

In addition to the custom design and manufacturing of the lens unit, TOYOTEC analyzed and verified the unexplained behavior of the light. By analyzing the phenomena and providing optical simulations, we were able to achieve optimal product development.</p>
<p><strong>Prospects for the Future Based on the Effects and Changes Resulting from the Introduction of the System</strong><br />
TOYOTEC worked with the customer to develop the optimum solution for downsizing the machine and improving the efficiency of the optical system, and realized the commercialization of products with the required specifications. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The magnifier lens unit is a clip-on device that can be attached to a smartphone.<br />
This product is being developed based on the concept of &#8220;being able to easily see small objects and organisms that cannot be seen by the naked eye&#8221;, by attaching it to an existing smartphone camera and using it as a handy magnifier, there can be numerous possibilities in its use and application.</p>
<p>There are some ready-made products on the market, but the ones currently available have a fixed focus, which makes it difficult to see the objects customer want to observe due to distortion and narrow field of view. Toyotec had previously introduced our RDL lenses to the customer who requested this product, and they thought, &#8220;If we use TOYOTEC&#8217;s technology which can design a lens with a wide field of view and no distortion, we can solve the problems of ready-made products and develop a new magnifier for smartphones together. This led the customer to consult about this product.</p>

In this way, TOYOTEC provides support from the design stage in colaboration with customers for new products that are not yet available in the market.<br />
TOYOTEC has the ability to provide optical and mechanical design until manufacturing which provides customer a possibility of unique lens design that matches their requirements.</p>

<p>The customer had been using a camera that caused distortion, and the CPU load was being used to correct the distortion.<br />
As a result, they were unable to achieve the obstacle detection they originally wanted to implement.<br />
We proposed our RDL lens, a &#8220;wide-angle, distortion-free lens,&#8221; which eliminates the need for distortion processing because the lens itself performs the distortion correction.<br />
This eliminates the need for distortion processing and helps reduce the load on the CPU.</p>

<p>This customer was looking for a lens that can take wide-angle photos in a limited space such as between lanes in a green house. They were also looking for a solution to the problem that stick-shaped plants such as cucumbers<br />
They were also looking for a solution to the problem that stick-shaped plants like cucumbers are easily affected by distortion during image recognition.<br />
We proposed our RDL lens, a &#8220;wide-angle, ultra-low-distortion lens,&#8221; to the customer as a lens that could solve both problems.</p>

It is supposed to be used to check the aging and deterioration of the green house based on the bending of the pillars and the tears in the vinyl.</p>
<p>This customer was thinking of using a stereo camera in the green house to form a 3D model to be used for inspection. However, due to the need for distortion correction in image processing, the amount of video information that can be captured by a single camera is limited, and in order to create a highly accurate 3D model, it is necessary to use many cameras. Therefore, we proposed the use of our &#8220;wide-angle and ultra-low-distortion lens&#8221; RDL lens in a stereo format, which can provide more information than a standard fisheye camera and can shoot a wider area, thus reducing the number of shots.</p>
<p>In response to our proposal, the customer appreciated the fact that the lens itself could handle distortions and that the CPU load on the software side would be reduced.</p>

<p>Although this is a developmental product, our company was requested co-development of this product from this phase because we are an optical component manufacturer capable of manufacturing plastic molded parts. This product requires a high-precision manufacturing because the object to be observed is the DNA of pathogenic bacteria, such as pests, and, as the name suggests, the flow path is on the micrometer scale. Joint development is now underway with TOYOTEC to develop a product that can rapidly diagnose several types of pests at the same time.</p>
<p>TOYOTEC has received various development requests like this one. In addition to lens and unit manufacturing, TOYOTEC also designs and manufactures injection molded parts. TOYOTEC has also been involved in many other development projects, and we have a proven track record of supporting customers through to mass production. As a result, TOYOTEC is able to respond to cutting-edge development projects related to plastic parts.
