We have no experience in the production of lenses in the ultraviolet region. The UV region is generally considered to be in the range of 100 nm to 400 nm wavelength, and our company’s main business is optics in the wavelength range from visible light to near-infrared (400 to 1000 nm).
We have tested to use a resin material called COP, which is often used by our company, in the UV region, but it was not practical due to the lack of weather resistance in the UV region, and the resin itself turned yellow color and deteriorated.
However, silicone resin, which has excellent weather resistance in the UV region, is widely known to the public, and we have studied the technology in the past.
The UV region has sterilization and disinfection effects, and companies have developed LEDs in the deep UV region.
We are currently exploring a business model that matches our optical system with these technologies.
We do not currently have any experience in the production of lenses in the ultraviolet region, but we are seeking a business model that matches our optical system with LEDs in the deep ultraviolet region, and we will provide more information about this business model as soon as it becomes available.
